Week 2: Patchwork assessments & consumerism
Hello Again,
Thanks for checking in.
Having issues with uploading the slides onto the Moodle at the moment - it isn't playing ball so Jon is going to do it. Apologies about that.

Your blog task this week is to please share your motivations & considerations behind one product you purchased this week. (See my example in the comments.)
See you on Wednesday,
Bryony
Below are my motivations & considerations behind a product I purchased this week.
ReplyDeleteExample:
What? Shoes for a wedding.
Why? (my motivation.) I needed comfortable footwear to wear at a wedding. I was borrowing the brides stilettos for the service but I knew I wouldn't survive in those all day & night.
My considerations. They needed to be practical, the right colour and affordable. The choice was between some beautiful gold flats made from pineapple fibre or some wedges from the high street at half the price. I brought the wedges because I knew I would wear them more times than the more ethically made shoes. So I hoped the pair I brought therefore had a more sustainable lifecycle analysis.
Also I wanted to add the more revealing decisions I have made this week are probably all the things I didn't buy. I love shopping, especially clothes for my son and have managed to talk myself out of buying numerous cute outfit for the wedding in favour of him wearing the smartest things he already owns.
I look forward to your comments - please make sure you comment with your full name.
